Annie B's
Dear Friends of the Jesus Center,
How can your dollar be more than a dollar?
When you make a donation to the Jesus Center through the Annie B's Community Drive, there is an opportunity to enjoy the fruits of a grant program from the North Valley Community Foundation (NVCF).
It works like this:
North Valley Community Foundation has committed to granting up to $200,000 to local nonprofits this year. In order to receive a portion of these funds, the Jesus Center will be raising funds from August 1 through September 30, that may be earmarked for the Annie B's match offer. These donations will be noted for the Jesus Center, you will literally make a check out to "Annie B's/Jesus Center" if you so desire. One hundred percent of the funds collected for the Center through the Annie B's offer will go to further our efforts to serve the poor of our community. After September 30, NVCF will tally the total amount raised by all participating nonprofits and determine the percentage grant amounts that will be given.
In 2007, NVCF distributed $102,000 in grants and the nonprofits collectively raised $787,000 with percentage grants totaling 14%. Donations must be received by NVCF between August 1 and September 30, to be eligible for the grant program. NVCF is very flexible in the donations that can be accepted. Checks are most commonly used for donations, but you may also make your donation online with your credit card. NCVF also accepts gifts of stock or equities and can even accept gifts of real estate or other personal property of value.
Checks are to be made out to:  Annie B's/Jesus Center
Checks may be mailed to: North Valley Community Fndn., 3120 Cohasset Rd., Suite 8, Chico, CA  95973
or to the Jesus Center, 1297 Park Ave., Chico, CA  95928.
Sincerely,
Bill Such, Executive Director
Rich Young, Assistant Director

Green Pallet Programs

The Jesus Center is starting an exciting new program with local businesses. Large wooden pallets, painted the bright "Jesus Center green," will be delivered to restaurants and food providers throughout Chico. A local businessman has set us up with a fabulous truck to receive these donations... and now all we need are volunteers to help with pick ups. Sound interesting to you?

Blessing Bags for Cold Nights

It's Blessing Bag season at the Jesus Center... a time where families, groups and churches get together to create goodie bags for our clients. If you would like to participate, fill a large zip lock bag with: a pair of thick socks, a comb, a healthy non-perishable snack, bottle of water, hefty garbage bag/disposable rain poncho, toiletries (razor, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrush, band-aids, etc), notebook with pen, bug spray or wipes. We distribute these items regularly through our Resource Center.
